Østreng offers lectures and consultancy by Karoline Kjesrud (Ph.d., postdoc), researcher in the field of cultural history and the manager of Østreng.

Karoline Kjesrud is currently researching long historical traces of plant knowledge and plant traditions. She has done research on medieval culture, courtly literature, female ideals such as Mary, the Queen of Heavens, and other historical queens. Theories of communication makes up a foundation in her reasearch as well as in horse training. She has an analytical perspective of the interaction between horse and rider, and immerses herself into historical sources of horse keeping and riding in Scandinavia. Karoline has completed the International Educational Program with Hanna Engström, and is continuously riding for licenced trainers by Bent Branderup / trainers in the Academic art of riding like Monika Sanders and Hanna Engström.
